The Cultural Diplomacy Forum extends its deepest condolences to the Royal Family and the people of the Kingdom of Norway on the passing of His Majesty King Harald V.

Türkiye and Norway share a century-long relationship rooted in mutual respect and cooperation, with diplomatic relations formally established in 1926. Over the decades, these ties have expanded across diplomacy, trade, culture and people-to-people exchange.

CDF particularly remembers His Majesty’s historic State Visit to Türkiye in November 2013, the first State Visit between the two countries, and his time in Ankara and Istanbul. The visit reflected the enduring friendship between Norway and Türkiye and the importance of dialogue, cultural exchange and mutual understanding in bringing nations closer together.

We honour the memory of King Harald V and his lifelong commitment to service, dialogue and international friendship.

Our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with the Royal Family and the people of Norway at this time of mourning.
